I'm a totally self-made man when it comes to computers. I've started with a Commodore Vic20 (with 3.5 Kb of RAM !!), then I migrated to the wonderful Amstrad CPC 464. As I was fed up with loading softwares from tapes, I invested in a CPC 6128 with an external hard drive, wow !!! Two 3" floppy disks each with 178KB per side, that was great ! Then Amstrad started to make IBM-compatible PCs, so I switched to an Atari 520STE, also because I had some musical instruments to control with the built-in MIDI interface. I boosted it to the maximum RAM, i.e. 4 MB, and bought a hard drive. I really loved that computer but then I discover Spectre, a Macintosh emulator. It was still system 6.0.5 at that time, so it was black and white, and you could only have one software running at a time. However, the proportional fonts, the ease of use of this system definitely convinced me to buy a Macintosh. My father gave me some money to buy a PowerBook Duo 230. Gosh, it was so expensive at that time ! Almost 4000 USD !!! But it was so great ! After that I had a Performa 5400, an iMac G3, an iMac G5 and now an iMac Intel.
